About

What is Morse Code?

Morse code is a method of encoding text characters through sequences of dots and dashes. Developed in the early 1830s for long-distance communication via telegraph, each letter of the alphabet and numeral is represented by a unique combination of short signals (dots) and long signals (dashes). Today, Morse code adds a touch of mystery and personal meaning to my jewellery, allowing you to wear a secret message close to your heart.

About me

Hello, I’m Mélanie :) I'm originally from Fribourg but now live in Lucerne, Switzerland. I’ve been creating Morse code jewellery for several years, initially for myself and to gift to friends and family. I cherish the idea of owning a one-of-a-kind, meaningful piece of jewellery. This passion drove me to start my brand, sharing these unique creations with others.

I strongly believe in the power of positive affirmation and thinking. My jewellery often incorporates motivational words, goals, or symbols of self-love. Wearing these pieces serves as a constant reminder to think positively and stay motivated.

Handcrafted with love

All my jewellery is handcrafted at home. For bracelets, I use elastic thread, making them easy to put on and take off. Personally, I never remove my bracelet, even when swimming, showering, sleeping, working, or exercising. The necklaces and key rings are made with durable nylon thread for added strength, especially since I tend to remove them more often.

Sustainability is important to me, which is why half of the pearls I use are sourced from second-hand shops. I love thrifting and finding unique pearls, making each piece of jewellery even more special. This also means that some colours may run out and be replaced with similar alternatives, keeping my collection fresh and exciting.

Thank you for visiting Dot & Dash Collection. I hope my creations bring you as much joy and positivity as they bring me.
